Architectural Embroidery Window Panels by Studio MTX
Studio MTX forms part of the Montex haute couture embroidery atelier founded in 1939, which joined the CHANEL Maisons d’Art in 2011. Studio MTX was established to to take embroidery from clothes to the space, thus freeing embroidery from its traditional medium and rethinking the techniques so as to adapt it to the scale of interior design. Studio MTX brings a fresh interpretation to embroidery, expanding its boundaries and constantly redefining its scope. At once design studio and production workshop, the atelier conceives, creates and presents new materials to interior decorators and architects. A unique combination of techniques from various areas of applied arts – embroidery, weaving, tapestry and leather goods – imbues these materials with their distinctive originality. Studio MTX designs are applied to furniture or adapted to architecture. Functional and decorative in equal measure, they enhance the architectural project in a myriad ways: by dividing up the space, guiding the gaze, punctuating volumes and adorning surface
in 2019, Sé collaborated with the creative director of Studio MTX, Mathieu Bassée, to produce an elevated form of window dressing for Sé's Milan Design Week installation 'Maison IV'. Studio MTX created ethereal layered panels, designed to reflect the curves of Sé's furniture, combining fabric with metallic detailing to mesmerising effect.
We are pleased to now be able to offer our clients three designs of window panels, with different metallic finishes which can be configured to suit spaces of any size, through the Sé gallery.
